Bonding is a minimally invasive method of restoring teeth with composite resin. It allows us to correct the shape, chipped or worn areas of the teeth and improve the esthetics of the smile without grinding down the teeth, or with only minimal preparation. Bonding is used in cases of:
- Diastema or gaps between the teeth
- Teeth with imperfections such as irregular or smaller shape
- Tooth wear
- Cracked or chipped teeth
It is performed by building up the teeth directly with a high-grade composite resin in a single visit.
Veneers
Veneers are very thin, delicate restorations that cover the front surface of the tooth. Their preparation removes only a minimal amount of tooth tissue while improving the shape, colour and function of the tooth. They can be used as a restoration method in cases of severe tooth wear, very large fillings on the front teeth, when the shape needs correction, or for discolourations that cannot be removed by whitening. Veneers can be made of ceramic or composite material. A treatment plan is prepared in advance and discussed with the patient, along with a mock-up showing how the future veneers will look. This mock-up is transferred onto your teeth so you can get used to and approve your new look before the final restorations are made.
Crowns
Crowns are restorations made in a dental laboratory that cover the tooth on all sides. They are used in cases of more extensive destruction or defects of the teeth. They can be made of pressed ceramic, zirconia or metal-ceramic. Crowns are usually completed in two or three visits, and until the final crown is placed, the tooth is protected with a temporary one.
